Why do you need a  Design?

A successful  construction project begins with a thoughtful and inspired design. A properly designed landscape and remodel improvements to your property, can really add value to your property, such as equity, curb appeal, creating privacy and screening unwanted views from adjacent properties, creating focal points from the house, accenting views from your property, creating functional space to entertain and relax. There are many possibilities and tools a  designer can use to transform your property from a house to a "Home".

It all begins with a design-planning consultation, during which Kelly Kohl or one of her personally trained designers, will discuss your needs, interests, and your family's lifestyle and budget.  We will also walk the property with you exploring options and ideas to create something special for you and your family. No  project is too small or too large for this design and build firm.

The  Design Process

  1. Initial Consultation. The landscape design begins with an initial consultation with Kelly Kohl or one of her highly trained design team, during which we will discuss your likes and dislikes as well as your family's needs.   We will show you pictures of work we have completed and have a conversation with you regarding the type of plants that would be appropriate for the conditions of your property. If you decide to move forward and retain our services to design your landscape we will quickly schedule the next phases of the design process.
  2. Site Evaluation. Once you have retained our services for your design, the first thing we do is send out a team member to do a site evaluation of your property. They will take pictures of the existing site conditions, measure the house and property, note the sun exposure and other elements which will effect the landscape.
  3. Presentation of Conceptual Design. Using the base sheet Our Design Team, will create a conceptual landscape plan which will illustrate her design ideas and recommendations for your property. Once completed she will schedule another design meeting with you to discuss that plan and get your feedback.
  4. Creation of Construction Documents. Once you approve the conceptual design, our Design Team, will create the necessary construction plans which will include a hardscape site plan, planting plan, low voltage lighting plan, and drainage plan. These drawings will provide the detail necessary for us to bid on the project and for you to submit to your homeowner's association, and/or engineer if applicable.
  5. Provide Estimate for Construction. Using the construction drawings our Design Team will create take-offs (cost breakdown) of the design plan, estimate Engineering and Permit cost.
  6. Schedule the Work. Upon your approval of our estimate and the signing of a construction contract  which includes details of materials to be used, progress payments to be made during construction, estimated time frame from beginning to the end of your project.  Projects start within twenty days of signing construction contract.  This gives us the time needed to schedule a Crew of Craftsman just for your project.  We do not over schedule, to ensure quality of work to be performed.
