In 1999, after a 20 year career as a Flight Attendant for a major airline, Kelly followed her passion and  became  a "Landscape Design Consultant", and a first time mother to Mackensie, now eight years old. With a flair and natural talent for garden design, she started a landscape design firm, Kelly Kohl Designs, division of Kelly Kohl & Associates, Inc. Kelly has since retired after 25 years of dedicated Flight Attendant service, to keep up with her growing Corporation.

Due to her unique and inspired style, Kelly quickly found her design services in high demand. After watching her valued design clients be taken advantage of, by licensed and unlicensed contractors, who also undermined her designs by not building to specifications; Kelly took the next logical step and started getting her hands dirty. After four years of hands on experience, required by the licensing board, she applied and passed her written California State License Test. She holds two Licenses to date, General (B) and her Specialty Landscape License (C-27). Kelly operates her Landscape Design Firm, Kelly Kohl Designs & Kelly Kohl Construction, divisions of Kelly Kohl & Associates, Inc., Design & Build Specialist, from her offices, located in beautiful Newport Beach, California.

As a result of her talent, attention to detail, customer service skills (garnered from her years of experience as a flight attendant), Kelly Kohl Construction, Design & Build Specialist, Kelly Kohl & Associates, Inc. is now a recognizable branded company throughout Orange County.

Kelly is a member of the Better Business Bureau (AA rating), California Landscape Contractors Association, Western Regional Master Builders Association, Crystal Cove Alliance Preservation Association, Habitat for Wildlife Association, Board of Directors, Pacific Coast Girls Fastpitch Softball, non profit organization, Featured "Contractor" in March 2008 issue of California Landscape Contractor Association Publication, she carries Workman's Compensation and General Liability Insurances.  All her employees are documented and are on payroll as full and part time employees within the company.
